LOCATION: The City of Oconto Falls is located in northeastern Wisconsin 28 miles north of Green Bay, Wisconsin. The community is the second largest city in Oconto County and lies on the Oconto River 5 miles west of U.S. Highway 141. U.S. Highway 141, an emerging four lane north/south limited access highway corridor, lies 4.5 miles to the east of the city. Trucking - Four trucking and one warehouse company are located within Oconto Falls. There are 49 trucking and warehousing establishments within Oconto County. Rail Service - Rail freight service is provided to the City's business park by the Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad, a regional carrier headquartered in Wells, Michigan. Air Service - The City of Oconto Falls is served by the Oconto County Airport which is located 12 miles east of the city. It has a lighted runway, allows for instrument approach, and handles charter flights and freight movement. Green Bay's Austin Straubel Field, the nearest scheduled air carrier airport, is located 35 miles south of the city and offers complete passenger and freight service. Mitchell International is located in Milwaukee, 150 miles south of Oconto Falls. Public Transit - The City of Oconto Falls is served by the specialized transportation service of the Oconto County Commission of Aging. The service is targeted to elderly and handicapped residents. Water Transportation Facilities - The Port of Green Bay, a gateway port providing full shipping services and easy access to the Great Lakes, is located 33 miles south of Oconto Falls.
