For the week of August 3rd to August 7th 

  • Crews will be working from Main Street to East Highland Drive.

    • Peters Concrete will continue to grade for landscaping.  Crews will start to place topsoil between the curb and sidewalk as well as on the backsides of the sidewalk.

    • Double D Landscaping will continue to complete landscaping from Main Street to East Highland Drive in the terrace areas and back side of sidewalks.  They will also start installing street signs throughout the project limits.

    • Northeast Asphalt will start paving asphalt tie in locations at all side streets from Main Street to East Highland Drive.  They will also complete asphalt driveways and parking lots.

    • Brickline will be onsite completing pavement marking from Main Street to East Highland Drive.

    • All intersections from Main Street to East Highland Drive will be opened to allow for local traffic only.  There will be partial closures on these intersections during asphalt tie ins and painting on crosswalk pavement markings.  All side streets will still be signed as “Road Closed to Through Traffic”.  

  • The schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen conflicts and/or weather




The City of Oconto Falls has so much to offer!

Small city living is wonderful.  There is a friendly smile to greet you around every corner and neighbors are always willing to lend a helping hand. 

With the Oconto River running through our small city, you can enjoy many recreational activities throughout the year.  Summer activities include swimming, boating, skiing, and fishing on the river; biking and hiking along nature trails; golfing at a beautiful 9-hole golf course; softball and many other sports activities.  Winter activities include snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross country skiing, and skating. 

Many annual events are enjoyed throughout the year.  The year starts out with an annual ISR World Series of Snowmobile Ice Drag Racing and St. Anthony's Annual Fishing Derby, followed by Memorial Weekend Celebrations to include a carnival and fireworks.  Falls Fun Fest in September is another fun-filled weekend of events to include an annual Chili Cook-Off and City-wide rummage sales.  During the year there are many annual fund-raising events and activities to attend. There is always something fun to do in our small city.
Oconto Falls has a first-class school system.  The High School boasts a work-out facility and an amazing Performing Arts Center.  Academics aren't the only offerings to students.  The Oconto Falls School District excels in sports, music, band, and the arts as well.  A new athletic field for the School District is in the works with plans of completion to happen in 2015.  Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Learning Center located in Oconto Falls offers additional education to the community. 

HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital, previous known as Community Memorial Hospital, has been part of the community since 1921 and is a fully equipped hospital with a 24-hour emergency room, rehabilitation department, outpatient oncology clinic, women's health services, in house pharmacy open to the general public, and a satellite for various specialty clinics from the surrounding area.  Additional health care facilities available in the city are clinics for family and internal medicine, nursing home care facility, as well as assisted living and memory care facilities.

Oconto Falls Community Library offers a wide variety of education programs along with special events for the whole family.  It is centrally located on Main Street and a proud member of the Nicolet Library system offering books, music, movies, and internet access.

Oconto Falls has everything you need to work and live.  The city features many banks, gas station-convenience stores, a grocery and hardware store, pharmacy, electronic and cell phone store, thrift shops, restaurants, taverns, flower shop, insurance agencies, photography studio, printing shop, newspaper office, auto dealerships, auto repair shops, dentistry services, churches, and a food pantry.

An industrial park developed in the 1980s brought a variety of industries to the area.  Some of the larger industries throughout the city include a paper mill, custom metal specialties, an engineering firm, and trucking companies.
